Chile Pasilla (also called Chile Negro ) is a dried chili from Mexico. This chili variety is very popular in Mexico for sauces or for preparing moles.
Pasilla chili can also be found in Mexican sauces such as Salsa Borracha, in marinades and in stews with beef and chicken.
Pasilla chili is the fried chili pepper, which is placed in small slices on top of classic tortilla soup .
The Pasilla chili has an intense, slightly spicy, but also somewhat sweet flavor. Because of its dark color, it is also known as the black chili.
