These plastic figures of the baby Jesus are inserted into the dough of the Mexican Rosca de Reyes. If you want to bake a Rosca yourself, you can get the traditional figures in a set of three here.
The Rosca de Reyes is a Mexican, slightly sweet yeast pastry that is traditionally eaten on January 6th, Epiphany, with family and friends. Whoever finds the doll in their piece becomes the "godfather" of the baby Jesus and is allowed to host the next gathering on "Dia de Candelaria" (February 2nd), at which tamales (stuffed corn dough steamed in corn leaves) are traditionally served.
