Chile Pasilla (also called Chile Negro ) is a dried chili from Mexico. This chili variety is very popular in Mexico for sauces or for preparing moles.

The Pasilla chili can also be found in Mexican sauces such as Salsa Borracha, in marinades and in stews with beef and chicken.

The Pasilla chili is the fried chili pepper that is placed in small slices on the classictortilla soup .

The taste of the Pasilla chili is intense, a little spicy, but also a little sweet. Because of its dark color, it is also known as black chili.
